just one consultant covers everything, this 'practice' but don't just take our word for this, please read first before you explore our website, what past clients actually say about the practice and the professional service that we have provided over the years, by 'clicking' on the left-hand side tab' above for, 'past & present clients list/references and testimonials' and also, 'saving money for the client because other consultants failed' a few recent client references are: feedback 1 as a construction contractor specialising in structural remedial works, we had cause to use dr hill’s services to prepare a structural report for our end client (yorkshire housing), on a property which was part of their housing stock. the property in question was showing signs of cracking both internally and externally. we were already in receipt of a building surveyor report which had been forwarded to yorkshire housing, but they felt it necessary to obtain a more detailed structural report to analyse the integrity of the property and to also propose a remedial scheme which was structurally sufficient and cost effective to remedy the problem on a long term basis. such a report was required from a qualified structural engineer and after receipt of several quotes we went with dr hill due to the prompt and efficient manner in which our initial enquiry was answered. this open approach continued throughout, with regular contact being kept and the whole process from inspection to report being completed within a few days. technical knowledge aside, it was a pleasure to deal with dr hill and his team from start to finish due to the professional and polite manner with which all correspondence were dealt. the report itself was as expected very detailed, and offered a technical insight into the causes and also a great knowledge of the practicality of the proposed remedial applications that is not always prevalent in such documents. this biggest compliment we can pay is to say that for any future structural reports we require we will go direct to dr. hill and his team, and will not be obtaining any comparative quotations. ian baldwin – 19 december 2012 specialist uk restorations ltd hanover house, hanover street , liverpool . l1 3dz t: 0151 285 3806 f: 0151 285 3939 prospect house, 32 sovereign street leeds . ls1 4bj t: 0113 389 1160 f: 0113 242 5818 www.specialistukrestorations.com feedback 2 i had cause to use dr hill's services in 2012 when i needed a structural engineer's input for a substantial 2 storey extension to my home. his costs were in line with other quotes i had received, but i took a chance on him based on the references i had seen. his initial report was frankly too detailed and technical for me so i could not assess how good it was, although it concluded that all would be fine. however, once building work had started, the inspectors from the council considered the existing foundations, and what they were built upon, to be inadequate for the load they would have to carry, and recommended underpinning to the tune of £40,000, which would have been too much for me. dr hill disagreed with them and argued his case vociferously insisting that from his extensive experience there was no issue. his confidence and experience led the inspectors to take his arguments seriously and they requested another report from him with further calculations showing that the additional load would be supported by the existing foundations. it also emerged that my property was built upon a concrete raft, and this together with his report meant that all could proceed as planned without additional cost. i was particularly impressed by dr hill when i witnessed him arguing his case with the inspectors -
